Synopsis:
The title of the film, Ong-Bak, refer-ence to make a statue of Buddha is in the temple of Nong Para-du, in rural Thailand. Data from the time of the Thai-Burmese War, which took place 200 years ago. The villagers believe that Ong-Bak is imbued with magical powers and can protect them from evil. One dark night, an old villager, Don (Wannakit Siriput), makes some accomplices cut his head of the statue to get the favor of a ruthless gangster named Khom Tuan (Sukhaaw Phong-Wilai). The villagers are devastated by what they see as a catastrophe, and seek among their young people to volunteer to be recovered the lost treasure. They find their man in Ting (Tony Jaa), an orphan raised in the temple, and a student of Pra Kru, a kindly monk, an expert on the ancient art of MUAYTHAI: "Nine Body Weapons." Ting travels to the dangerous streets of Bangkok, where you will discover that the head of Ong-Bak is ma-us of Khom Tuan. Ting meets another native of Nong Para-du, George (Petchthai Wongkamlao), and a jog-worlds Chavalit, Muay Lek (Pumwaree Yodkamol). Ting convinces them to help you achieve your goal. The adventure leads them to become involved in fights, battles and intricate street persecutions tions on board the "tuk-tuks", the famous three-wheeled Thai taxis.
